Parent Conference

Montessori is a very unique approach to education, it nurtures a child’s desire to explore, discover and learn. A Fully Implemented Montessori program strives to develop on the whole child—their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. 

Is Montessori education a good fit for children of any age, Yes, it is!!!! Introducing your child to Montessori as early as possible puts them on the path to becoming confident, self-motivated learners.

This will be a day to spend with some wonderful Montessorian who will take you on an informative journey about Montessori and the best part is it is being offered for free. Meals and accommodations will be the responsibility of the attendee, conference will be held at the Sheraton Cavalier 2620, 32nd Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta.

As parents, your attitudes towards new experiences, challenges and effort are conveyed to your children through your words and actions. A Growth Mindset is the belief that our basic abilities can be developed through hard work and dedication. Carol Dweck writes, “This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment”. This workshop will explore the strategies parents can employ to foster a growth mindset in their children.

 

4:00pm – 5:00pm – Carol Scarratt – Montessori: Methods and Materials

Ms Carol’s session for parents will include an overview of the Montessori method outlining the five main curriculum areas and their main learning outcomes.

Mini-presentations of materials will be included. Be prepared to participate in this fun learning session! A handout is included for all those pre-registered.
