Bio:
Dr. Luz Casquejo Johnston is a seasoned Montessori educator, school leader, and parent-coach with nearly three decades of experience guiding children, families, and teachers. She holds a MACTE-recognized Montessori credential, has served as a teacher and administrator across public and private Montessori environments, and spent more than 15 years preparing adult learners through university teaching, conference keynotes, and national teacher-education programs.
Dr. Luz is known for translating Montessori philosophy into powerful, 21st-century practice. Her work integrates Montessori’s developmental principles with contemporary research in identity formation, trauma-responsive education, nervous system science, and culturally sustaining pedagogy. As a published researcher in human motivation and self-determination theory, she brings a grounded, evidence-based lens to the classroom realities educators face today.
She is the creator of the Parenting on Purpose and Raise Badass Humans frameworks — systems that help adults build regulated, connected, and culturally responsive learning communities where children can thrive. Her keynote and workshops are rooted in real-life Montessori experience, connection-centered leadership, and practical tools teachers can use immediately.
Passionate, engaging, and deeply committed to adult learning, Dr. Luz supports Montessori guides and leaders in becoming the prepared adults today’s children need to change the world.
